Lesson 1: Caring for the Environment

LEARNING OUTCOMES
• Recognise how daily habits affect the environment.
• Develop awareness of personal carbon footprint.
• Identify strategies to reduce environmental impact

AIM OF ACTIVITY
To understand the connection between daily habits and environmental impact and learn practical ways to
reduce one’s carbon footprint. It involves calculating the amount of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide,
produced directly and indirectly as a result of various activities, including transportation, energy consumption,
diet, and waste generation.
By understanding their carbon footprint, learners can become more aware of the environmental consequences
of their actions and make informed decisions to reduce their emissions and mitigate climate change.
